West Weber Community Council

January 19, 2022

Attendance: Sarah Hodson, Cayley Holmes, Jake Petersen, Shae Petersen, Joanne Hobbs, Brandi Noble. (Neisha tried to join virtually.) 

Budget Report: We are on track with spending, half of budget spent.  Current balance $33,692

Council Training: Viewed partial video “What’s New, School Land Trust Program 21-22” which explained about Appropriate Academic Areas & Spending.  This was to preface the discussion about next year’s plan.

Review Plan: Questions presented about the Ron Clark program.  Cayley explained how it is building/uplifting teachers, a good leadership program to build students and teaching/using the essential 55 skills helps promote positive character traits in our students.

Concerns brought up about taking an item away when the person who is receiving did not thank the person who is giving.

It was suggested to begin the monthly parent letter again, informing parents about the program and the skill focus for the month.

Proposed changes to next year’s plan: The MOY Acadience scores will be sent out before February’s meeting. This will help members use the data to inform decisions about our goals.
